To become an accounting associate, one must earn an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or any other related field. One must gain relevant experience in the field of accounting.  Employers do consider one’s experience in accounting before taking in a prospective accounting associate.  Pursuing advanced courses to earn a master’s degree provides one an advantage in advancing in this type of career.    Obtain a certification and earn the designation of a Certified Public Accountant.  Earning such designation allows one to be considered for a higher career position.
