The advertising assistant provides support to the top executives of an advertising agency or firm.  An advertising assistant may have varied tasks depending on their job title.  The executive assistant to the CEO is responsible for the managing schedules and appointments, making travel arrangements, providing assistance in the preparation of presentations, keeping records and taking notes, and assisting in developing reports.

The administrative assistant to the executive creative director collaborates with creative directors, art directors, and writers. He is to perform administrative tasks and client presentations as well.  The broadcast production assistant handles work samples or portfolios, manages studio schedules, and updates commercial reel.  The planning assistant takes on tasks in market research and analysis.  The last type of advertising assistant is the print production assistant.  He is to provide support to the production director or manager by monitoring the ads.

How to become an Advertising Assistant

To become an advertising assistant, one must earn a bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, journalism or communications-related field. One must have skills in communication and computer applications.  Gain relevant experience as well.  An individual who had undergone internship has a higher chance of getting an employment.  Internships are usually offered through a degree program.
