Agriculture Opportunities, salaries and recruitment

Agricultural industry is now largely dependent on machinery and technology, which means that fewer hands can still produce more.  So, the number of job opportunities has reduced moderately.  However, agriculture is the most important of all the industries, so if you have the will, you will find a job opening to suit your aptitude.

Most people in the agriculture industry are self-employed.  With the increase in demand for organic produce, even small and medium scale farmers are able to make good profits.  This is the bright side in an industry which is slowly being dominated by corporations and big firms.

There are a number of job options available in the agriculture industry.  You can choose to be a farmer, a farm manager, a Vineyard Manager, Range Manger and Agricultural Gardner to name a few.  The job opportunities for farm managers will increase as more and more land owners or corporations depend on them to run their farms efficiently.

The salaries in the agricultural industry cannot be determined by a set pay-slab.  The pay varies greatly, depending on various factors.  The quality and quantity of the output as well as the demand for the produce play a major role.  Other factors include the position and work experience.  It is one industry which relies heavily on experience rather than formal training.

Self-employed may make more money depending on the productivity.  However, with big firms and corporations joining the fray, employees may draw better salaries.
