Audit Manager Career

The audit manager takes on a role in operation control, guidelines, and processes evaluation.  It is his job to ensure policy and standard compliance.  He is tasked to oversee audit plans, evaluate requirements for time and budget, ensure proper allocation or resources, review staff work and processes, delegate tasks and responsibilities, and coordinate with management.  As an audit manager, one is also tasked to select, hire and train the auditing staff.  He is also responsible for the evaluation of the staff.  To become successful in this type of career, one must have skills in communication, organization, leadership, management, and problem solving.  One must have relevant years of experience in the field of auditing.  A graduate degree is required as well.

How to become an Audit Manager

To become an audit manager one must earn a masters or doctoral degree in accounting, finance, auditing or other related field.  One must obtain a professional certification in accounting or auditing.  Certifications or designations that will qualify one for this career position includes Certified Public Accountant or CPA, Certified Financial Services Auditor or CFSA and Certified Information Systems Auditor or CISA. Advancing to a managerial position requires one to gain relevant work experience as well.
