Beautician career is a specialized career option. A beautician is also known as a cosmetologist or even a hairdresser. A beautician’s career is categorized in the personal care service provider industry. The primary job responsibility of a beautician is to help the clients of a salon in improving their physical or facial appearance using non-medical methods and resources. A beautician can specialize in a particular aspect of cosmetology like nails, hair, facials, and makeup or they can provide all the services categorized in cosmetology.

How to become a beautician:

Those who are interested in pursuing a beautician career need to complete a vocational program or an associate degree program in cosmetology. Getting a certification or degree is the basic educational requirement. Apart from education, an aspiring beautician needs to display effective communication and should be able to carry long conversations with their clients. Knowledge in chemistry, hygiene, and sanitation is essential and one needs to also apply for license in their respective state to be able to pursue a beautician career.
