Builder Career


Building a home or a building requires the expertise of a builder. The builder career involves the construction of buildings or houses as well as small fixing tasks.  One may work on a per building project basis or work full time.  The builder takes on tasks that are physically demanding.  This type of career entails one to bend, stand, walk, and lift heavy equipment or tools. One works on building frames and walls, installing wirings and insulation, and installing windows.  The work of a builder may work during the day or during the night.  Building projects such as road construction are done when minimal or no human activity is ongoing.  This type of career requires one to have the necessary background in the construction industry including construction practices, regulations, and laws.

How to become a Builder

To become a builder, one may go through a training program, apprenticeship or earn an associate degree in construction.  Due to the demands of this type of career, one is required to be physically fit. One is to use various equipment and machines used in construction projects. One must have skills in reading blueprints, troubleshooting, calculating dimensions, and estimating materials.  This type of career requires one to have interpersonal skills since a builder works in a team.
