How to become a building architect:
All building architects have to earn the Bachelor of Architecture from colleges that are affiliated to the National Architectural Accrediting Board. There are 117 universities and colleges in the US affiliated to the board. The engineering program usually takes three years for completion. Engineers can go for the M. Arch program.
Building architects must have a strong design sense and should be good at drawings. They must pay a patient ear to the needs of the client and should be open to alterations in the design.

All states require building architects to undergo an internship program that comprise practical training as per the guidelines of Intern Development Program. The program usually lasts for three years where the intern has to work under a registered architect.
