Business career training involves designing and facilitating training and development courses for employees and units in the business industry.  A business trainer creates solutions to the needs of the company or entrepreneur, and opening and maximizing opportunities to improve the performance of employees and the business unit.  An interest in writing and interpersonal skills is a plus for those who want to become business trainers.

How to become a business trainer

To be a business professional, you may take some business courses or take a degree in colleges and universities.  You can start by taking a few business courses to jumpstart your career then take additional courses when you have chosen which field you want to specialize in.  To become a business trainer, you need to take a bachelor’s degree in an accredited school.  You then have to major in training.  If you want to have greater chances of landing a job, take a Master’s degree.  It is important to be well-versed in business etiquette.

You can work in small businesses of entrepreneurs or big companies and corporations.  You will be working with various individuals so you need strong social skills.  Whether you work with small or large business units, your basic work would be researching and writing, as well as facilitating trainings.  Thus, you will be working with people in one-on-one settings as well as in groups.

When you take business degrees, you would take courses depending on the field you choose.  You then need to major in training, organizational design, organizational development, technical writing, communications, and psychology.  You may get certification from various programs such as the American Society for Training and Development.  Employers also have various requirements, with some seeking higher education degrees and others giving more emphasis on skills, experience and performance.

I’m interseted in taking adult program in “train the trainer course” at Stanford University on leadership develoment for both adults and children.
