The chemical engineer career is involved in the research, design, and improvement of various products.  It is the chemical engineer’s job to apply his knowledge in addressing issues surrounding the manufacture, production, and use of products. The chemical engineer is tasked to design manufacturing systems and equipment, design buildings, create new products, do research work, and accomplish reports.

He is to estimate costs as well as the task force needed in a specific process.  A chemical engineer may specialize in one area of production or process.  He is to make sure that a plant or process does not have any adverse effect on the environment. To become a chemical engineer, one must earn a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Gain relevant experience in the field of chemical engineering.  Pursue higher studies and earn a master’s degree. Gaining an MBA is advantageous.  A chemical engineer who wants to pursue research or teaching must earn a doctorate degree.  Obtain as license especially if one’s work may affect life or property.  A license is also needed for an individual is to provide public service.  Continue to learn, take courses or get into training programs to stay abreast with the trends in the industry.

    I would also say it depends on the area you are looking to move into for example, When we hire people at Cal Gavin they have to have experience of heat exchangers although they might only have been trained in chemical engineering
