How to become a Chief Nurse

To become a chief nurse, one must earn an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.  After completing one’s degree, he can take the National Council Licensure Examination.  Successfully passing the exam allows one to become a licensed registered nurse.  One may pursue a master’s degree depending on the requirement of the employer.  Having a background in management is also an advantage in pursuing a chief nurse career.  Advancing to this position requires one to have excellent skills in leadership, management, administration, and human relations.
