Career Description:

The deputy court clerk plays an important part in the management, maintenance and organization of court records as well as its financial operations.  He operates various clerical and administrative duties.  There are tasked to assist and respond to inquiries of lawyers, judicial officers, law enforcement and the public.  Other responsibilities include assisting in the preparation, review and processing of required legal documents; handling of payments or fees; accounting and finance; managing of case schedules; and maintaining or managing records and documents.  The records kept and maintained by a deputy court clerk include marriage licenses, business licenses, liens, land documents, name change records and adoption documents. The deputy court clerk must have good communication, math and computer skills.  One must also be able to analyze and solve problems that may arise.  The right type training will help one succeed.

How to become a Deputy Court Clerk
