The education consultant, also known as the learning consultant or curriculum specialist, ensures the quality and improvement of a school’s system. One is tasked to plan the curriculum, select textbooks and learning materials to be used, evaluate academic programs, research on teaching strategies, implement technology, and supporting teachers.  An education consultant may also provide assistance and support to people who are deciding on their children’s’ education. He helps in school selection especially if the student has special needs.

How to become an Education Consultant

To become an education consultant, one must earn a bachelor’s degree in education.  Pursue graduate studies and earn a master’s degree in education to have a better chance of getting an employment. Gain relevant experience in teaching/education, or research. Gain specialized training through the Independent Educational Consultants Association.  It provides a yearly training program for new and aspiring learning consultants.  Certification may also be obtained through the association.  One must have strong skills in communication, organization, leadership, management, and human relations.
