A file clerk career is an entry-level job position. To become a file clerk, one must at least have a high school diploma or GED.Gain relevant experience.  Employers provide training to prepare a file clerk with the tasks he is to do.  One must be well trained regarding the filing system used in a specific company.  A file clerk works under direct supervision.  This type of career entails one to strictly adhere to company guidelines and policies. One must be skilled in communication, organization, computer use, and customer service.
