Finance Career Opportunities, salaries and recruitment

With money markets facing all time high levels of fluctuation, there are many openings in finance.  Companies are in a recruitment drive to select the most eligible and qualified people to tackle the financial crisis.

Finance careers like accounting careers and bank careers are also very much open to people with requisite qualifications and experience.  One can even join as a Trainee and then move on to more responsible positions in the company.

The number of job openings for financial analysts and personal financial advisors are predicted to be among the top 10 growing occupations.  Many companies and banks rely on head hunters to get them the best candidates.

Though the number of job opportunities may be more, the competition is expected to be tough as most of these jobs are very well paying.  A good academic background is a must-have.  A Master’s degree, additional certifications and work experience can tilt the balance in your favor.

Financial jobs generally involve working in a team.  So, it is important to be a team player.  Depending on your performance you have the chance to head the team and take on other responsible positions.

Financial jobs are also very conducive to career changes.  Many people move on from purely financial areas to administrative and management cadres.  Top positions like those of CEOs and Managing Directors are generally open to people with a background and experience in finance.  This gives the top brass a better understanding of the company’s financial policies and management.

The salary of most of the jobs in the financial industry is more than average and is predicted to increase considerably in the next few years.  However, the pay scales vary depending on the size of the institution as well as location.  Most employees enjoy perks in the form of bonuses.  Senior employees enjoy additional benefits like stock options, expense accounts and other fringe benefits.
