A hairdresser career revolves around hair styling and various aspects of hair cosmetology. The primary objective of a hairdresser is to make the customers of the salon happy by cutting their hair, creating perms, innovative and standard hair styling, and coloring of hair. Depending on the skills acquired, a hairdresser can also work as a beautician or cosmetologist. The job role revolves around offering consultation on hair, skin, and nail care. He/she may also be required to perform services on wigs and artificial hair, hair extensions, and administer facials and massages.

How to become a hairdresser:

Those who are interested in becoming a hairdresser or beautician need to pursue a vocational course in cosmetology. Apprenticeship programs are also available that combine class room study with on-the-job training. One can also complete their basic education and start with on-the-job training at a beauty salon or a hairdressing salon itself.
