A hotel and lodging management is about overseeing and managing operations of hotels, motels or lodging establishments.  The hotel and lodging manager plays an important role in making sure that all the needs of the customers are met.  He is tasked to schedule and supervise housekeeping, check on reservations, direct administration and marketing, handle budget, purchase equipment, oversee maintenance and security, and see to it that all facilities are operational.

He is to make sure that the establishment’s financial condition is favorable. To become a hotel and lodging manager, one must earn a degree in hotel management, business management, hospitality or any other related field.  Depending on the employer or the size of the establishment, one may pursue an associate, bachelors or master’s degree. Gain relevant experience in managing a hotel.  Gain a certification.  Having a certification gives one an edge over the others.  Become part of a professional association as well.
