Today most industries are using computers and computer applications in running their businesses.  It is a must that these businesses employ the services of an IT technician. The IT technician plays a very important role in the management, maintenance and repair of computer systems and equipment.  The IT technician has various tasks and responsibilities.  One is tasked to make sure that all equipment, software and hardware, is working properly.  He is to diagnose and provide solutions to problems encountered.   He is to test and repair equipment, install computer applications and connections, develops system specifications, tests programs, and maintains computer systems.  The IT technician must also have excellent skills in communication, analysis and problem solving.

How to become an IT Technician

An aspiring IT technician must at least have a high school diploma. Other employers prefer those with associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or any other related field.  Gain relevant experience. One must have a running knowledge of systems and software.  Training is provided by the employer to help one become prepared with the various tasks and responsibilities in the work place.  One must be able to solve problems, multitask and is well organized.
