Career Description:

A project manager may not be always present to monitor, supervise and evaluate all areas of a project. A junior project manager takes on the lead in his absence.  Directly working under a project manager is a junior project manager.  The junior project manager provides assistance and support through project supervision and monitoring.

It is his task to provide the necessary documentation of project activities and issues that may arise.  The junior project manager oversees the workforce, delegates specific tasks, and accomplishes progress reports.  He also takes part in making presentations regarding the project at hand.  Aside from that, the junior project manager may assess and evaluate projects. He may make the necessary recommendations or advice to further improve specific project areas.

How to become a Junior Project Manager

To start one’s career as a junior project manager, he must earn a bachelor’s degree, preferably any business or management-related degree.  An individual without any bachelor’s degree but had gained relevant years of experience and skills in a specific field may also allow one to become a junior project manager.  Obtain a certification through certifying bodies such as The Project Management Institute.  Be sure to have the required years of experience to be able to qualify for certification.
