A legal recruiter career can be a full-time or part-time where one can either work as a consultant or be a permanent employee of a legal firm which is looking to hire attorneys, paralegals etc by interacting with law schools and experienced attorneys directly. He is in charge of handling the interview process, communicating with the attorneys or heads of law school, prepare of any travel arrangement, make an interview program, plan a budget for the recruiting process, answer any employment or recruitment related enquiries and keep track of the latest happenings in the legal job market so that he can provide the right of candidate for a particular company.

How to become a legal recruiter:

In order to become a legal recruiter you must have a high school degree and preferably have at least 2 to 3 years work experience in a legal setting. You should have very good communication, negotiation, networking and organizational skills and proficiency in computers.

There is no specific degree required to become a legal recruiter, at least at the entry-level, although all firms expect a minimum of high school degree and preferably a college degree. It is also better to work in a law firm at some position so that you know about the different roles in a legal firm and understand the job and can accordingly recommend the right candidate to the client.
