A medical office assistant is an individual who performs a mix of administrative and clinical tasks. The main purpose of this position is to facilitate the work of the physicians/ other health care professionals. Thus an office assistant has to perform a number of routine tasks such as administering the medications/ injections, recording the medical information in the systems etc. The individual may also be required to carry on basic procedures like measuring the vitals, managing the medical instruments/ other supplies and preparing the fluid/ tissue specimens etc.
